    Have you ever asked yourself the question, “Why aren’t people buying my product?” If so, I’ve got some good news and some bad news for your suffering conversion rate.

    The bad news is this: it’s probably your fault – but the good news is that we can fix it.

    Marketing is a fancy term for “Guessing”

    Think about it. Any product is a gamble. Will it be a hit? Or will it be a total failure? The things we do to market ourselves are based on our best, most educated guesses. And that’s probably being overly generous.

    The good thing, though, is that almost everyone else is in that same guessing boat called marketing. Well, everyone except for those who’ve learned to use the not-so-secret fix of A/B testing and heat maps.

    Why data is the key to boosting conversion rates…

    The sad fact is this: even the most experienced, educated, and knowledgeable of digital marketing experts look stupid when compared to A/B testing. And that’s because of DATA.

    Data is the only way to really know what’s going to work (and what won’t). Why? Because it analyzes what is and what isn’t working. It watches the unpredictability of human nature and finds patterns, facts, and reliable, repeatable statistics.

    Now, how do you get the right kind of data? Easy. You’re going to want to use what’s called a heat map.

    Heat Maps help your conversion rate heat up

    Let me tell you about a client of mine. This amazing client had a landing page that converted at a whopping 81.2%. Pretty good, right? Well, I knew she could do better.

    So we implemented a heat map to see where people were clicking, since they seemed to be missing the giant “BUY NOW!” button smack dab in the middle of the page.

    As it turns out, there were some banners with links in them at the top of the page. It had no business being a link, mind you. But it was just distracting enough that it was getting clicks, frustrating would-be-buyers, and killing sales.

    After fixing that and a few other things, we were able to get her conversion rate up to 92.5%.
